Also, those of you who are avid readers and gave me suggestions last time here is what I have read. Note, I bought or have in my wish list the books you suggested. Thanks!

The Immortal Life of Hennretta Lacks - by Rebecca Skloot
Totally awesome! This is a non-fiction, true blue book, found in the science section. Don't let that freak you out! It was SOOOOO GOOOOOD. It is the story behind the HeLa cells. Those are the cells used in the Polio vaccine, the new cervical cancer vaccine, invetro fertilization, AIDS meds, anit-depression pills, chemotherapy, cloning (yep, the sheep named Dolly is because of HeLa cells) and the list goes on and on. These cells have been into space for testing against radiation, nuclear fallout, gravity, anti-ageing...the list could go on.

This story is so great because of the woman they came from. The book tells her story and how she didn't know they took her cells and her family didn't know their mother was HeLa until she had been gone 20 plus years. It is fascinating. It goes through her amazing story. Did you know your cells are probably on file somewhere too? Very cool. Very real. Very amazing.

Whistling in the Dark by Lesley Kagen
This was a story of two young girls whose mother is in the hospital and their step-father pretty much parties every night so they are on their own. There is a murder in town and one girl knows she is the next victim. It is a good story. I only give it 3 stars because I didn't like the 8 year old girl. She smoked and had horrible language. That just bothered me. Other than that it was pretty good.

The Dry Grass of August - This is the story of a family with a black maid and their struggles with racism. It is so moving. The main character is a young teenager. She is wonderful. I really enjoyed this book a lot.

I am currently reading,  A Tree in Grows in Brooklyn. I will let you know.
