Valentine's Day, a devotional, a party, the ACT, the dentist and a basketball game.

Today started when we left the house at 7:30 am. We didn't get home until 8:15 p.m. I was on carpool both ways to school today. I had Kenzie's devotional in the morning and Maylin's party in the afternoon. Since we live so far away, I just decided to stay rather than drive for 25 minutes each way only to be home about 20 minutes.

Kenzie's 11th grade did a devotional today for Veterans. Kenzie had a solo. However, at the last minute the teacher threw in another girl, but the girl didn't sing loud, so all I could hear was Kenzie anyway! She did great and looked pretty too. Her voice was awesome.

Then I brought in all the supplies for Maylin's party. After that, I left and took my self to lunch for Valentine's Day. I was the ONLY person in the restaurant that was alone. Oh well. I splurged and had cheese on my sandwich and I got a macaroon! That is a huge deal for me since I have given up cheese and sweets. It was delicious. I had someone come up to me and ask me if I was alone and if they could have the extra chair at my table.....that was totally a Fraiser or Friends moment.

Maylin's party was great. I did a cake walk game and they had yummy food. Other moms did a Bingo game, a bean bag toss, and a card making station. Right before the party started a little boy in Maylin's class puked. Poor kid. I felt bad for the boy whose shoe he threw up on. While the teacher cleaned up the boy and shoe, the janitor cleaned the floor and I washed all the kids hands and disinfected all the desks and anything that kid had touched. We will see if the whole first grade escapes the stomach flu or not.
Maylin loved the strawberries, but when she ate one hers was very sour. I love the look on her face in the second photo.

After that, Maylin and I loaded up for carpool. Alex stayed to work with his math teacher.....he got a 56% on his last math test and to stay for his basketball game. Kenzie had to take part of her ACT test. She has an accommodation so she gets extra time and days to take the test. Maylin and I took the carpool and dropped off the other kids at our local park and ride where Jay met us to take them home, while I jetted to the dentist with Maylin.

PEOPLE!!!! SHE HAS TWO MORE SHARKS TEETH! This poor girl has never lost a tooth on her own. She has had 3 pulled and the two today would be # 4 and 5. However, the dentist, after much talking and pleading could not get her to open her mouth or stop crying. So, we go back in two weeks this time armed with Valium. Poor girl. I don't blame her after having teeth pulled and 4 root canals.

We then hurried home, grabbed a change of clothes and headed back to the school to watch Alex's game. He played so well!!! He had 6 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block. One of his steals, he ran the ball all the way down the court and made a lay-up. It was awesome. Alex is number 22.

On the way home, the kids were hungry so we stopped at In and Out Burger. Jay and I ate diet food at home. The kids now are frantically trying to make me Valentine Cards.....cute. Alex took a rose out of the bouquet Jay got me and tried to pass it off as one he got for me. He is a character.

Its 9:21.....I'm pooped and Alex has to be at the orthodontist by 7 a.m. Night everyone.
