Lights, selfies, family time and a nativity play.

Jay's brother, Cavin, came to town a few days before Christmas. We were able to spend a couple of days with them. One night we went to see the lights on temple square and the candy windows at Macy's. It was fun. The cousins enjoyed taking pictures everywhere and so I decided to get into the "selfie" fascination and take some too. It was pretty funny.  While they were with us, we had a make your own pizza night, played games (that was hysterical.....we played Heads Up) and went out for ice cream. The kids even went skiing for a day. Kenzie tried snowboarding and lets say it was a disaster. She lost her board a couple of times, it hit a rock and caused sparks to fly because it hit so hard, she sat on it like a sled and Austin let go of her causing her to ZOOM down the mountain leaving her with a face full of snow. It was so bad, it was funny. She came home laughing at how outrageous it was. It was fun to see them during the holidays.  I love this bunch and am so ...

"I'm 22..ooooo" and Merry Christmas

Just wanted to post some pictures of our trees. I usually do 3, but I just couldn't this year. I love them once they are up, but getting them there and then the thought of taking them down just made me tired. So, only two this year. Part of our month long celebration, we have Austin's birthday! His b-day and Christmas are such a special time for Jay and I. We always remember the hardest, but most tender Christmas the year he was born. He was born Dec. 15 and was in the hospital until mid-January. Christmas was different and hard, but in a way the best one we have had. We were served and loved by others and we relied on each other. We also really celebrated what Christmas was about, the Savior. We relied on him so much that year. We knew it was only through Him and our Father in Heaven that Austin would live. I got to hold Austin for the first time on Christmas Eve. He was 9 days old. It was a special moment. We also went to a movie that night (when visiting hours close...

Pre-Christmas fun

I really wanted Christmas to be special this year. It was the first time in two years we were together as a family, so I really wanted it to last. We set a goal to do an act of service everyday from December 14 to December 25. It was super fun. We made a bunch of tags that said, 'For God so Loved the World, He Sent his Only Begotten Son...." We Wish you a Merry Christmas" and attached them to gourmet candy canes and put them on every car we pretty much came in contact with. We also did lots of other amazingly personal services to those we knew and those we did not know. It was awesome. Really awesome. The kids had a great experience doing it. We met lots of great people and learned more about those we knew. Service tends to do that. It was a highlight. We also went to the Draper City park lights. Totally cool. Jay fell walking across the park, so his time was mostly spent in the car, once me and Austin were able to lift him off the ground and help him hobble back to the...
