25 years and we still like each other.

On January 27, it was our 25th wedding anniversary. That went by quickly, yet I feel like its been forever. We have had good times, hard times and I can say we have a better relationship now than we did in the beginning. Jay is the best. He is so kind, sweet, romantic, thoughtful and he does his best to help me around the house and with the kids. I love him.  On our anniversary he gave me these 8 dozen roses. He is so sweet. We also went to dinner at our favorite Indian restaurant called The Bombay House. We love the chicken Marsala and naan. We went and had a massage afterward.  So yummy. Besides our relationship we have changed. More wrinkles and more grey. We really wanted to go away, but with basketball and kids and work, it didn't happen for awhile. Finally, in February we went downtown and spent a night. We stayed at the Grand American. They upgraded us to the penthouse for free. It was a great view even though I hate elevators and would have pre...

I love my kids. They make my life complete.

My kids are so fun. I am slow at blogging because the older they get the busier they get, which means I get busier. They keep us entertained and they keep us on our toes. They make us happy, sad, frustrated, mad, proud, humble, excited, stressed......complete. Life with them is great, but it is hard.  Sometimes I feel like I had no idea what we were getting into when we had kids. I am grateful that thus far they are obedient, kind, honest, love their Heavenly Father and His son, want to make a difference in the world and are trying to be their best. Each day I pray hard that each one with be safe, will make it through the current challenge, that I will know what to do, that they will know what to do and that we will love each other. Sometimes my prayers are shorter when things are going okay and when only one of the kids is having an issue, but sometimes they are long when more than one of them is having a hard time. A few weeks ago, I swear every single one of them was ha...

My cute little girl isn't so little anymore.

March 22 is Gotcha Day for Maylin. We got her 8 years ago tomorrow. Time has flown by. We took her to dinner tonight, since tomorrow is Sunday. She chose Costa Vida. She always gets their big sweet pork burrito, with pinto beans and she likes it smothered. She hate half tonight, but she has actually eaten the whole thing before. It was just Maylin, me and Jay tonight. It was fun to have one on one time.  We love her so much and enjoy her. I can't even imagine live without her. She is growing up so much. She has permanent teeth, thinks boys are cute, she still (since she was 1) loves fashion, layering clothes, lip gloss, wearing high heels, playing Barbies and American Girl doll and being with friends. She knows how to use an iPad and phone better than I do. She wants to do what's right. She loves her Heavenly Father and Jesus. She loves her family. Sometimes when her siblings cause her grief she will say otherwise. She misses Kenzie so much since she has left and loves it ...

Basketball finals

Basketball ended for Alex on February 14. It was not a loving, sweet day. The night before they beat a team in double overtime. So exciting. Especially since Alex scored the points that put them into that second overtime. We traveled two hours to the final games on the 14th. They played the team they beat in double over time. They lost. Then they played a team from an Indian Reservation (they ended up taking the WHOLE thing). They were tough. Alex guarded number 32 in the pictures. You can see that he was way taller than Alex. Alex is 6'1" and this dude was at least 5 inches taller. He really was hard to stop. He had at least 70 pounds on Alex's 195. Overall though, it was really fun. Alex's school took 3rd, the team we beat in double overtime and then lost to, took second and the Native American team took first in state for their division. Fun season! Fun to watch! Now we will have lots of free time. Thanks to Coach Norton and Jorgensen. Here they are announcin...
