I love my kids. They make my life complete.

My kids are so fun. I am slow at blogging because the older they get the busier they get, which means I get busier. They keep us entertained and they keep us on our toes. They make us happy, sad, frustrated, mad, proud, humble, excited, stressed......complete. Life with them is great, but it is hard.

Sometimes I feel like I had no idea what we were getting into when we had kids. I am grateful that thus far they are obedient, kind, honest, love their Heavenly Father and His son, want to make a difference in the world and are trying to be their best. Each day I pray hard that each one with be safe, will make it through the current challenge, that I will know what to do, that they will know what to do and that we will love each other. Sometimes my prayers are shorter when things are going okay and when only one of the kids is having an issue, but sometimes they are long when more than one of them is having a hard time.

A few weeks ago, I swear every single one of them was having a hard time. Jay and I were about at wits end. We just didn't know what to do. Right now, at this very moment only 2 of the 4 are having a dilemma. That seriously is a relief compared to just a few weeks ago. Alex was in a car wreck. Maylin was in the car. Just a month earlier, Austin was in one and Maylin was in the car. She happily proclaims that she's been in two wrecks in two months. At least she is happy about it. We were just grateful they were okay. Being a parent is seriously the hardest thing we have done.

When I look at these pictures or get a hug from them or watch them hug each other, I do have a moment of sunshine. A moment that carries me on to the next crisis.

My two young ones sharing lunch at school. Love these two. They love each other.

Alex at an 80's dance at his school. He is dressed like Marty McFly. This is the girl he had a crush on at the time of the dance. They are really good friends now. They have never dated since she isn't 16, but I took their picture together at Alex's request. She is a cutie and a good friend.

Here are a bunch of his friends.

Here are the tired parents. We look old and haggard. No time for dates. This was a Walmart run and we counted it as a date.

Our baby dogs. The kids love these dogs. They call them "the boys."

Here is crazy Alex in art. Dancing with a skeleton. He keeps us laughing.

Austin was visiting his sister. He is a good brother. Of course he has to raid her animal crackers! I am glad they are close to each other. This picture just makes Kenzie laugh.

We babysat Jay's nephew's kids for the weekend. It was a blast. Our kids love them. They treat these sweet little boys so well. They push them around in strollers, play hide and seek and hold them so sweetly. It is nice to see they love their family and will make good parents someday.

The boys went to the school with me to help with Maylin's pilgrim celebration. The boys were hard to handle while I was setting up food. Alex had math lab and the teacher said he was complete so he could help me. He grabbed some blocks and entertained the little kids for more than an hour.

Maylin loves her cousins. She is so good to them. She was so cute in her pilgrim costume. It is fun to help in her class. I love having a young child too. Sometimes it is really hard dealing with adult drama, teenage drama and child drama....which I have all 3. Maylin keeps us grounded and active. She will be a great source of joy when everyone is gone and its just us 3.

Alex takes the cousins to class to meet his friends. I think it was to attract girls. It really worked too!

This melts my heart. The little boy, Kye loves Alex and Alex is so sweet to him. Here they are cuddling watching Saturday morning cartoons. Kye is attached not to a blanket, but to a green plastic skeleton. He calls it Green. Alex was so tender with Kye and Mr. Green.

Did I just hear that?

Today I was at W*lM*rt and I had the WEIRDEST experience. I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about it. I was at the self check out and the worker that handles those came over to Nini and put her hands on Nini's cheeks and literally put her nose against Nini's nose. Okay....don't know you, plus it is serious cold and flu season. I pulled the cart back quickly. The lady was talking to Nini and asking her how old she was and telling her how cute she is (she is that). Then she said to me, "where did you get her from?" That question threw me. I have been asked where she is from, what nationality she is, but never, "where did you get her from?" I said China, but was thinking, "does she think I got her from a store or something?" This was just the beginning of what was the MOST outrageous conversation I have ever been apart of. She asked me her name. I told her and she said, "Thank you! It makes me so happy to hear that name."...

Maylin's room

Here is an update on painting. The doors continue to be a nightmare. We don''t have doors on the girls bathroom and no doorknobs on any of the other doors. Hopefully next week. I love everything else. Many of you asked about the glaze in the kitchen. It is an oil based glaze that comes in black, white, brown. You roll it on with a small roller and then take it off with a rag, by blotting it. You can make it darker or lighter depending on how much you put on and how much you take off. Here are pictures of Maylin's room. I was scared to make a change with 2 colors, but I think I like it. I don't know if you can tell but on the pink paint it is a wash (first white swirly, then pink) with light white flowers like the top pink ones. I picked words to go around her room that may inspire her. The Chinese translation is underneath. Of course, we used Meng, that was her first name...Meng ni and they called her Nini. The words are in vinyl and the flowers were painted using a pa...

Happily ever after

NieNie Dialogues: April 15, 2019 Christian is the most important person in Stephanie's life. She made this post about him. She wrote about how much she loved him and he loved her. Every year she dedicates a song to him as they enter another year as husband and wife. She said, "Everyday I pray to God, thanking him for Christian. I thank God that he is my husband, my protector, and greatest defender. I thank God that Christian loves and respects me.......And I thank God that I will be with Christian forever and even to infinity and beyond." I am not married, but I related to this post because I love my dad. He is my protector and my provider. He really takes care of our family. He is so great. I can tell my mom loves him too. Even though it embarrasses me, I love to watch my parents hug and kiss. I am glad we are sealed together. After reading this post, I decided I needed to write in my journal characteristics I want in a husband. These are the things I wrote: Must l...
