Tagged

I have a niece-in-law (love you Claudia), who tagged several members of the family to write 10 unusual or interesting facts about themselves on the blog so people can get to know them better. I loved reading her's and the others (Hooli) she "tagged", so here goes. Also, I tag anyone with a child or waiting for one under age 3 who would like to do this (you know who you are Tiff, Nate, Susan, etc). I would tag my family, but they have all been tagged.

10.In restaurants I get nervous if I see someone not being waited on well enough. Drives me crazy so I try to take the seat where I can't see anyone else.

9.I love to clean baseboards. I clean mine weekly. If I am stressed or upset they get cleaned more often. It is very soothing. Try it.

8.I love to cook and try new dishes out almost 3 times a week. I am not afraid of trying new things out on guests. Husband hates this. It makes him nervous when we have people over.

7.I love to garden. I won't wear gloves because I like to feel the dirt on my hands.
I have 30 raspberry bushes, TONS of strawberry plants,7 grape plants and 9 fruit trees. They make me happy. I also know almost every name to every plant in my yard. There are a few I forgot.

6.I was shy when I was in high school. I remember trying out once for a school officer. That was a stretch. I lost and never did it again. For those of you who know me now, all I can say is I am making up for lost time! Te He He Te

5.I have 2 siblings. One is 18 years older than me and the other is 16 years older. We have great relationships despite the age difference. I admire and love my siblings. I have a nephew that is 6 years my junior and I have great nieces and nephews that are older than my last child.

4. With each of my biological children, the food I craved during their pregnancy has ended up being their favorite food. Austin it was soft serve ice cream, Kenzie it was apples (she is the only child that likes them and she loves them), and Alex it was shrimp, crab and lobster. They are his favorites. Unfortunately, last year he developed a severe allergic reaction to shrimp.

3.I haven't had a perm since 1989 and I change my hair style and color OFTEN. It is a joke with my husband's family that I change my hair a couple times a year. Every time they visit they bet on what my hair might look like. I guess I like it because its one thing that can be easily changed. I think I have a hang-up about hair because my mom had me get a perm every 6 months. I had some really bad ones. She also wanted me to have the "news anchor" hair styles. So since then, I love to change. Biggest extreme: Brown hair that was 4 inches below my shoulders to blond with big streaks that was 11 inches shorter. It was shorter than what I have now.

2.I have always secretly wanted to be a famous dancer or singer. This is particularly funny since I can't sing at all and I am not flexible or coordinated. I use to pretend I was one of those when I was young. I pretended my stage name was Debbie. Maybe it is the idea of fancy outfits and having roses thrown at you after a performance. Who knows.

1. I love my husband. He is my soul mate and my dream man. I love to smell his laundry. He still makes my toes tingle.

Enjoyed reading your top ten.
By the way, whenever I mention you to people I always say, "My little sister, Laurel, that I just love, did or said yada yada yada....."

I loved the list! Especially the one about how much you love Jay....that makes a great family! I also think you should still consider the dancer or singer route...you'd be great!

The "Tagged" idea is great...such fun to read them and see all the current pictures of everyone. You have such a neat family and everyone seems so happy. Glenda tagged Dad and I...Don't know for sure how to put it on the computer..may need some help.

Did I just hear that?

Today I was at W*lM*rt and I had the WEIRDEST experience. I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about it. I was at the self check out and the worker that handles those came over to Nini and put her hands on Nini's cheeks and literally put her nose against Nini's nose. Okay....don't know you, plus it is serious cold and flu season. I pulled the cart back quickly. The lady was talking to Nini and asking her how old she was and telling her how cute she is (she is that). Then she said to me, "where did you get her from?" That question threw me. I have been asked where she is from, what nationality she is, but never, "where did you get her from?" I said China, but was thinking, "does she think I got her from a store or something?" This was just the beginning of what was the MOST outrageous conversation I have ever been apart of. She asked me her name. I told her and she said, "Thank you! It makes me so happy to hear that name."...

Maylin's room

Here is an update on painting. The doors continue to be a nightmare. We don''t have doors on the girls bathroom and no doorknobs on any of the other doors. Hopefully next week. I love everything else. Many of you asked about the glaze in the kitchen. It is an oil based glaze that comes in black, white, brown. You roll it on with a small roller and then take it off with a rag, by blotting it. You can make it darker or lighter depending on how much you put on and how much you take off. Here are pictures of Maylin's room. I was scared to make a change with 2 colors, but I think I like it. I don't know if you can tell but on the pink paint it is a wash (first white swirly, then pink) with light white flowers like the top pink ones. I picked words to go around her room that may inspire her. The Chinese translation is underneath. Of course, we used Meng, that was her first name...Meng ni and they called her Nini. The words are in vinyl and the flowers were painted using a pa...

Happily ever after

NieNie Dialogues: April 15, 2019 Christian is the most important person in Stephanie's life. She made this post about him. She wrote about how much she loved him and he loved her. Every year she dedicates a song to him as they enter another year as husband and wife. She said, "Everyday I pray to God, thanking him for Christian. I thank God that he is my husband, my protector, and greatest defender. I thank God that Christian loves and respects me.......And I thank God that I will be with Christian forever and even to infinity and beyond." I am not married, but I related to this post because I love my dad. He is my protector and my provider. He really takes care of our family. He is so great. I can tell my mom loves him too. Even though it embarrasses me, I love to watch my parents hug and kiss. I am glad we are sealed together. After reading this post, I decided I needed to write in my journal characteristics I want in a husband. These are the things I wrote: Must l...
