Are you serious?

The family is home! They are loving the HOT showers and the fact they can flush toilet paper!

So I wanted to share my funny and frustrating Friday. I had to take Kens to the store to buy a swim suit for a b-day party she was going to. I packed the girls up and off we went. The car ride was absolutely hysterical! It went like this:

Maylin: I am going to marry Aush or Olex.
Kens: You can't marry them. They are your brothers.
Maylin: Then who am I going to marry?
Kens: One of your friends.
Maylin: Can I marry Malaree's brother, Slade?
Kens: Yes. Then you would be Malaree's siter.
Maylin: Yes! I want to be Malaree's sister!

Break...silence.

Maylin: But then I would have to kiss Malaree's brother. That would be weird.
I don't know if I can think about that.
Kens: You don't have to get married yet. Wait until you are 21.
Maylin: You don't get married when you are 5?
Kens: No, 21.
Maylin: Okay. I am not 5 yet, so I won't have to kiss him yet.

So funny.

Then we got into JC Penney. Maylin was in her stroller. I stopped at the jewelery counter and I was still holding onto the stroller, but she got out without me noticing. When I turned seconds later, I noticed she was gone. Kens and I were looking all over. I started to panic. I was calling her name. No response. Kens and I were running around in a panic. I finally told (it had only been 1 minute) for Kens to go tell someone and get security. As she ran by the glasses, she noticed Maylin stuck between the pillars of glasses. I ran to her, and saw she had her mouth covered with her hand. I said what are you doing. She replied, "Trying to be quiet so you won't hear me." Yeah, and I didn't and I was having a heart attack.

I pulled her out swatted her bum, not hard, I was too happy to see her, but I wanted her to get the point, and firmly told her she can't run and hide. I told her that mommy was so scared. Truly, my heart was beating out of my chest and I could hardly breathe. She started to cry and I about did too.

I am sure the security man watching us on those hidden cameras was laughing his head off.

Then, while in the dressing room Maylin announced she had to go potty. So we started to walk to the bathroom.

She says LOUDLY: "We have to run. It is coming out. Its poop!"

I started to laugh. She started running and put her hand on her bottom like she was holding it in. We barely made it. In front of the door to the bathroom she was dancing (the potty dance) saying was this the girls? I was having a hard time reacting to her urgency, because she was so darn funny. We got in the stall and she told me:
"Turn around in the corner and close your eyes. I don't want you to see me." I obeyed and there I stood with my nose in the corner of the bathroom stall with my eyes shut, trying not to laugh at what we have just been through the last few minutes.

She is so funny. It all made up for the little "I am going to hide and scare the tar out of you" incident.

Glad everyone had a good time and is home safely. Sorry about our lack of visit. All I can say is this visit was my family's "turn". But maybe next time? Love you!

Losing Maylin in the store would be really scarry. Can't believe she was hiding from you and knew she had to be quiet so you wouldn't hear. Her marriage story is funny. Em thinks she is going to marry Ethan too! Funny Maylin thinks she will have to marry at age 5!
Malaree would love to have Maylin for a sister! I'm not so sure about how Slade would feel about this but his parents think she would be great. As long as they don't get married while they are 5!!! She is such a HOOT!!!

Did I just hear that?

Today I was at W*lM*rt and I had the WEIRDEST experience. I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about it. I was at the self check out and the worker that handles those came over to Nini and put her hands on Nini's cheeks and literally put her nose against Nini's nose. Okay....don't know you, plus it is serious cold and flu season. I pulled the cart back quickly. The lady was talking to Nini and asking her how old she was and telling her how cute she is (she is that). Then she said to me, "where did you get her from?" That question threw me. I have been asked where she is from, what nationality she is, but never, "where did you get her from?" I said China, but was thinking, "does she think I got her from a store or something?" This was just the beginning of what was the MOST outrageous conversation I have ever been apart of. She asked me her name. I told her and she said, "Thank you! It makes me so happy to hear that name."...

Maylin's room

Here is an update on painting. The doors continue to be a nightmare. We don''t have doors on the girls bathroom and no doorknobs on any of the other doors. Hopefully next week. I love everything else. Many of you asked about the glaze in the kitchen. It is an oil based glaze that comes in black, white, brown. You roll it on with a small roller and then take it off with a rag, by blotting it. You can make it darker or lighter depending on how much you put on and how much you take off. Here are pictures of Maylin's room. I was scared to make a change with 2 colors, but I think I like it. I don't know if you can tell but on the pink paint it is a wash (first white swirly, then pink) with light white flowers like the top pink ones. I picked words to go around her room that may inspire her. The Chinese translation is underneath. Of course, we used Meng, that was her first name...Meng ni and they called her Nini. The words are in vinyl and the flowers were painted using a pa...

Happily ever after

NieNie Dialogues: April 15, 2019 Christian is the most important person in Stephanie's life. She made this post about him. She wrote about how much she loved him and he loved her. Every year she dedicates a song to him as they enter another year as husband and wife. She said, "Everyday I pray to God, thanking him for Christian. I thank God that he is my husband, my protector, and greatest defender. I thank God that Christian loves and respects me.......And I thank God that I will be with Christian forever and even to infinity and beyond." I am not married, but I related to this post because I love my dad. He is my protector and my provider. He really takes care of our family. He is so great. I can tell my mom loves him too. Even though it embarrasses me, I love to watch my parents hug and kiss. I am glad we are sealed together. After reading this post, I decided I needed to write in my journal characteristics I want in a husband. These are the things I wrote: Must l...
